Do  you have a student who taught herself to read, or have a student who  can recite the size and eating behaviors of every single dinosaur  species? Is your child playing Risk and Settlers of Catan with older  kids, but can't ever find his shoes? Is your student struggling to make  friends at the park? Is it feeling impossible to get your student a  class or a textbook your child doesn't race through? Are you exhausted  from trying to teach? Is your child's boredom causing strife? All of  these behaviors are indications of giftedness, and homeschooling your  gifted child can be daunting. We are here to help!

This talk is  for anyone currently homeschooling or considering homeschooling who is  feeling overwhelmed at teaching a gifted student in grades K-5. We will  discuss what it means to be gifted, how to recognize it in your children  (and yourself), the "downsides" of giftedness such as anxiety,  perfectionism, and procrastination, how to combat boredom and  underachievement, and offer a variety of strategies and curricula for  teaching young students so they, and you, can grow through  homeschooling.
