FAQs for current BRIGHTLinks families

  • What is Brightlinks Prep?

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, Brightlinks Preparatory Academy is a hybrid private microschool school providing radically individualized education paths for highly and profoundly gifted students in grades 6-12. The school is operated under BRIGHTLinks Inc. As a full private school Brightlinks Prep will offer academics as well as academic planning, advising, and tutoring.

  • What makes Brightlinks Prep unique?

Brightlinks Prep is unique because our students are unique. We offer an individual mix of virtual and in-person classes tailored to each student’s unique needs using pedagogy aligned with BRIGHTLinks’ and International Gifted Consortiums’ best practices for gifted students. We utilize radical acceleration and deep dives into academic and intellectual interests to challenge each student to new intellectual heights while shoring up any areas of struggle to strengthen all aspects of future college readiness. Each semester students and their families work together with Brightlinks Prep to build an individual academic plan. Students will participate in mandatory academic mentoring meetings each week on a schedule determined by need. Students will have opportunities for social engagement and extra-curriculars most Fridays at Triangle Chess Academy-Wake Forest, 10580 Ligon Mill Rd #101-B, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

  • When does school start?

Brightlinks Prep will follow a nine-month traditional calendar of two 18-week semesters with typical holiday breaks. We begin mid August with orientations and run until mid May. However, students may be enrolled in classes through providers who deviate from this schedule.
